OPay is seeking a motivated, customer-focused, and results-driven Telesales Officer to support customer acquisition, product adoption, and revenue growth. The successful candidate will engage prospective and existing customers through inbound and outbound calls, understand their needs, promote relevant OPay products and services, and convert opportunities into successful sales.
This role is ideal for a proactive individual who enjoys working in a target-driven environment and has strong communication, persuasion, and customer engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Make outbound calls and respond to inbound customer enquiries to promote OPay products and services.
Engage prospective and existing customers, identify their needs, and recommend appropriate products or solutions.
Drive customer acquisition, onboarding, product activation, and retention through effective telephone engagement.
Clearly communicate product features, benefits, and value propositions to customers.
Handle customer questions, concerns, and objections professionally and work towards successful conversion.
Consistently achieve assigned daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
Follow up with prospective customers to maximize conversion opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, leads, follow-ups, and sales activities in the CRM system.
Provide a positive customer experience while maintaining OPay’s service and brand standards.
Work closely with relevant teams to resolve customer issues and ensure a seamless customer journey.
Stay informed about OPay products, services, campaigns, and promotions to effectively communicate them to customers.
Requirements
- Minimum of B.Sc. or HND in any relevant discipline.
- Previous experience in telesales, telemarketing, contact center, call center, customer service, direct sales, or a related role is an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of English.
- Fluency in a Nigerian local language is an added advantage.
- Strong persuasion, negotiation, objection-handling, and customer engagement skills.
- Proven ability to work towards and achieve sales targets.
- Self-motivated, resilient, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with customers over the phone.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with CRM systems or call center tools is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
